About Me
My name is Rianne Mayer, I am a senior at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy and have been here since sixth grade. I have played sports my entire life and am continuing to at a collegiate level. I have always been a strong and independent girl, however my identity was challenged on March 28th. I was sexually assaulted and it took a very big toll on my life. While I was supposed to be getting ready for the softball season, I was getting interviewed by police officers. I have decided to take this experience to use it to try to bring awareness for how real this serious issue is. I wanted to educate people about how this can really happen to anyone. For my capstone, I decided to combine my love of sports with sexual assault awareness by holding a special volleyball game, as well as going into high school health classes. My Mission In the future I aspire to be a big impact in the FBI and Homeland Security for the United States in help to stop acts of terrorism. When I was younger I wanted to be a police officer and be out in the field, however I want to be a mother and do not want my children wondering if their mom will come home safe. In the Fall of 2018 I will be attending Post University to major in Emergency Management and Homeland Security where I will also be playing softball. |
